Activities Weights
The Oshkosh YMCA offers weight training programs for all fitness levels. Physical strength is a necessary and effective component of functional fitness for people of all ages. When appropriate levels of muscular strength are maintained, physically demanding tasks as well everyday activities are performed with less effort. Certified staff is available to help YMCA members and activity members reach their weight training goals.

Group Personal TrainingOrganize a group of seven people and the YMCA will customize a group workout! Call Sandra (DTC) or Kathy (20th Ave.) to schedule a day and time for the class. Cost is $40 per person for Members and $60 per person for Activity Members.
New Member OrientationWe offer each new member complimentary time with a personal trainer to introduce you to our cardio and circuit machines. Based on your goals and fitness level, our certified trainers will teach you how to use the equipment appropriate for you. You will be instructed on proper form and how to adjust the machines. The amount of time spent with our trainer will be based on your personal needs. This orientation is designed to help you feel more comfortable with our equipment, and to get off to a good start. In order to maximize the benefits from this program, it is necessary to complete the program within 60 days of your joining date. Contact the Health & Wellness Center to schedule your appointment. Personal TrainingIndividual one-hour sessions, with a certified trainer, are for people who want the best activities for their individual needs. Sessions are scheduled by appointment. Cost is $30 for Members and $45 for Activity Members for one session. Five sessions cost $125 for Members and $200 for Activity Members. Call Lifestyle Center staff to make your appointment or for more information.
Program RefresherOur training staff is available to update your existing workout routine every 8-10 weeks. This gives you an opportunity to add some new, more challenging exercises to your current program. Contact the Health & Wellness Center for more information or to schedule your appointment. Strong TeensThis six-week, activity based course will teach teens the basics of living an active, healthy lifestyle. Teens will learn how to properly use the cardiovascular and circuit equipment in our Health and Wellness Center. Topics include: Benefits of Exercise, Anatomy, Heart Rate training, FITT Principle, program design and nutrition. After successful completion of this class, participants will receive a pass to use the Health & Wellness Center on their own, a Strong Teens shirt and a water bottle. For ages 13 and up. $20 for Oshkosh YMCA Members only. Meets 4-5pm Tue & Thur at either location.
