Facilities  Aquatic Centers
Both YMCA facilities house two pools.
The 20th Avenue YMCA boasts the Kuhn Family Pool, an eight-lane, 25-yard, competitive lap pool. This pool allows the YMCA to hold competitive swim meets at the facility, as well as swimming lessons, fitness classes and family recreational swimming. The temperature in the Kuhn Family Pool ranges from 81-83 degrees. The Oshkosh Truck Family Pool, also located at the 20th Avenue location, includes a water slide, zero-depth entry, a lazy river current, water play elements and water spouting gadgets. Families love to utilize this pool during open times for recreational swim. Other activities that take place in this pool include swimming lessons, arthritis aquatics class and active older adult programming. The Oshkosh Truck Family Pool’s temperature is kept between 84 and 88 degrees.
In addition to the two pools at the 20th Avenue location is a sauna, steam room and whirlpool, all located on the pool deck.
The Downtown YMCA is home to the Rockwell Pool, a four-lane, 25-yard pool, as well as the Williams 3 1/2-foot deep pool. The temperature in the Williams Pool ranges from 84-88 degrees and the Rockwell Pool’s water is kept at a temperature of 81-83 degrees. Programming in these pools includes activities for active older adults through young children. YMCA swimming lessons range from children six months of age through adult.
The Downtown YMCA has a whirlpool on the pool deck, as well as a newly remodeled same-floor pool observation area. The temperature of the whirlpool ranges from 101-104.
All of the YMCA pools are staffed with certified lifeguards that are prepared to respond. Aquatics staff members go through a rigorous staff meeting each month to practice their rescue skills. Our staff is dedicated to making the YMCA aquatics experience one that is enjoyable, as well as safe.
