Facilities Child Care Centers

Child Development Centers

The YMCA is the largest provider of childcare nationwide. The Oshkosh YMCA offers conveniently located childcare at both YMCA facilities for children six weeks to age six. Our centers provide safe and dependable environments for children to enhance their physical, emotional, intellectual and social growth, as well as their developmental skills.

The Child Care Centers are licensed by the State of the Wisconsin's Department of Health and Family Services. Both centers provide developmentally-age appropriate programs, which are committed to nurturing individual differences and encouraging the social, intellectual, physical and mental growth of the child. USDA approved meals, including breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks are provided. Swimming lessons, gymnastics and other youth sports are offered throughout the year for children three to six years old for an additional fee. Our children have daily access to the YMCA facilities including gyms, courts fields, pools and playgrounds for their physical growth and development.

Family Prime Time Centers

Now it’s easy and fun for families to spend quality time together in our homework area, working on computers, playing games, playing in the Kid’s Maze and more. Our Family Prime Time Centers are specifically designed to make the YMCA experience, a family-friendly experience and are designed for children and parents to spend quality time with each other. Children ages six and older can enjoy the centers without an accompanying adult. Computer stations (with limited internet access), play mazes, pool tables, air hockey and big screen television/lounge areas are just some of the fun features in this supervised center. The Family Prime Time Centers are conveniently located adjacent to the Drop-In Child Watch Centers. Parents can drop off children under the age of six in the Drop-In Center and older children in the Family Prime Time Center.

When Family Prime Time is not open, children can utilize the lounge area, play maze and library area when accompanied by an adult. Children six and older are free to play in this staff-supervised area without a parent.
