I began my Y career at the Stevens Point Area YMCA in August 2007. I was initially hired to teach Group Exercise Classes like Zumba and Drums Alive. Between 2007-2010, I worked in multiple departments including School Age, Health & Wellness, and Youth Sports. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion & Wellness from UW-Stevens Point in May 2010. In October 2010, I received a promotion to the Director of Wellness and Chronic Disease Prevention at the Y. While in that role, I was responsible for the Fitness Center, Personal Training Program, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program, and Directed four road races and three triathlons. I then graduated with a Master of Science in Human and Community Resources in May 2012.
I relocated to the Fox Valley in early 2014 to be closer to family and transferred to the YMCA of the Fox Cities. While there, I taught Dance, Group Exercise, and LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, and was contracted to run the Fitness Center at Fox Valley Technical College. I joined the Oshkosh Community YMCA as the Group Exercise Director in December 2015. In addition to a general Group Exercise Instructor Certification, I have training/certifications in Yoga, Group Cycling, SilverSneakers, TRX, Zumba, Defend Together, and Core Focus Together.
In addition to overseeing the Group Exercise program, I am also responsible for Corporate/Community Wellness, Employee Wellness, the Oshkosh YMCA Yoga Teacher Training, I am the co-chair for the Kids Mud Run, and oversee mental health initiatives such as the Brighter Days Support Program.
My husband and I got married in 2013 and we have two wonderful children.
