My name is Matt Carey, I am the Ice Arena Director here at the 20^th Ave. YMCA. I Started with the YMCA in April of 2022. I have been around Ice arenas all my life, growing up playing youth hockey here in Wisconsin and being fortunate enough to play three seasons of professional hockey as well. 

As the Ice Arena Director it is my role to cultivate and maintain relationships within the ice sports community, Grow our existing programs with the help of our instructors. As well as reach outside our community to bring user groups to the Oshkosh YMCA that may not know we have this amazing facility here in our community.

Working as the Ice Arena Director seemed like a natural fit when I started in 2022. Both of my kids grew up here being part of numerous YMCA programs as well as learning to skate and play hockey in this facility. Our family continues to be a part of the YMCA to this day.

Our family lives here in Oshkosh and is active in many sports. Our kids participate in hockey, volleyball, lacrosse, and golf. We spend a lot of our summer hours on or near the water. With the help of the YMCA, Oshkosh has been a great place to raise our family.
