WATER FITNESS CLASSES AT THE Y

All water fitness classes are offered on a drop-in basis. With 2 state-of-the-art aquatic centers, we offer a wide variety of shallow & deep water classes. Water fitness is for everyone, regardless of age or ability level. Non-swimmers are welcome! 

No registration is required for water fitness classes- just check the aquatics schedule & drop by whenever works for you!

WATER FITNESS CLASS OFFERINGS

NO REGISTRATION NECESSARY! All classes are offered on a drop-in basis. Some classes rotate seasonally. For the most up to date class offerings, please see the aquatics schedules. 

ARTHRITIS AQUATICS: This class offers water exercises that are recommended by the Arthritis Foundation for joint movement. There are also exercises for maintaining strength. The ability to swim is not required as all classes are offered in the shallow pool which at its deepest point it 3 1/2 feet. Participants also enjoy a social and recreational component. 

AQUA ZUMBA: Physical conditioning through Latin dance moves and water exercise. Shallow water workout, medium impact and a cardiovascular workout that is great for beginners and intermediate exercisers.

DEEP WATER CURRENT: Class is held in the deep end of the lap pool. This is an awesome class for your joints- no impact, but a great workout. 

POWER CURRENT: Looking for a new way to vary your workout? Try out our new water walk/run/jog class! Any ability is welcome as you can set your own pace. An instructor will lead you through walking, jogging and running through the water with very low impact to the joints. The water creates great resistance and is good change from the treadmill or pavement.

FOREVERWELL WATER FITNESS: Senior water fitness class is designed to be less strenuous class than our regular water fitness class. Focus is more on toning, stretching, and flexibility. Participants also enjoy a social and recreational component.

STRENGTH & STRETCH: Using resistance apparatus, water fitness dumbbells, noodles, and kick boards you will build strength and balance while stretching major muscles and joints.
