Hello! My name is Angie Flanigan, and I am the Branch Executive for the 20th Avenue location. I began my YMCA career at the Green Bay YMCA while attending college at UW-Green Bay. I immediately fell in love with the Y movement and when I relocated to Oshkosh, I knew I wanted to continue working for the Y. I started working at the Oshkosh Y in 2002 in the school age childcare department and over the years have worked in various leadership roles and departments until assuming my current role in 2021.
My role at the Y is to steward the Y’s cause while promoting the Y as an inclusive organization within our community. I lead the 20th Avenue branch to empower our staff team to positively impact individuals and families so they can achieve their full potential.
When I began my Y career, I was immediately moved by the inclusiveness culture and commitment to creating a connected community. When I started my family, the Y became a second home to us. My children attended childcare, participated in swimming lessons and sports, my husband became a volunteer coach and helped with special events and now my oldest son also works at the Y. My family has benefitted a great deal from being involved in the Y. The positive relationships formed over the years, the amazing experiences my family has had, and the incredible role models my children have been able to learn from have truly helped shape the family we are today and myself as a YMCA leader.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two boys. I love watching my kids participate in sports and as a family we enjoy taking road trips and having movie nights at home.
